World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. Features New RedyRef Interactive Kiosk

RedyRef is proud to have been selected to engineer and deploy the new interactive, outdoor kiosk at the WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C.  The kiosk features curated information about the memorial, including material from the National Archives, a searchable database of those who served and details about the war and its impact on everyday individuals. The kiosk software and companion mobile app experience were designed by the talented development team at INADEV Corporation.

 

Bexar County, Texas Installs Interactive Kiosks with Free Wi-Fi

The trend toward interactive cities shows no sign of slowing down and isn’t limited only to the biggest metropolises.  In fact, more medium-sized cities are making investments in informational and wayfinding kiosks than ever before.  Bexar County, TX — home to San Antonio and several World Heritage sites —  is the latest in a long line of communities to commit to digital kiosks in their community.  Through the pilot program includes six kiosks to be installed beginning in May 2017, featuring dual 55-inch outdoor displays, dual touch screen, Wi-Fi and USB quick-charge capabilities. Said County Judge Nelson Wolff, “I’m very excited to announce these kiosks. This is another step in the county’s efforts in building a vibrant urban environment and expanding wireless technology for Bexar County residents and visitors.”

 

New Interactive Kiosk Market Report Released

Stratistics MRC recently released a new report covering the global interactive kiosk market.  The key finding is that growth is expected to reach $88.34 billion by 2022 growing at a CAGR of 9.7% during the forecast period beginning in 2015. Some of the biggest drivers for market growth include increased development in retail and entertainment industries, consumer interest in self-service technologies, and rising demand for security-related applications. Retail takes up the largest share of the industry for kiosk market growth, with about 40% of the global share as of 2014. By region, Asia-Pacific is expected to experience the most growth due to kiosks’ use in the service industry, in particular airports and railways.
