RedyRef can custom build an electronic directory to fit in your current “static” directory location. Many older buildings have old “static” directories with name strips that become cumbersome and expensive to maintain. They also tend to make the building look old and “out-of-date”. With technology we are able to change all that and bring your building into the new century. Besides acting solely as a directory listing, users can now search by various data elements such as Companies, Individuals, Departments, Area Amenities, Leasing and Building information. Since you will be pulling out the old directory you may end up with a big hole or opening in your lobby wall. Instead of spending a large amount of your budget to cover the wall with an exact match of marble or another type of fascia, RedyRef can fabricate a custom directory enclosure to fit in your exact directory opening. Look at the past projects to the right to see our finished work. In order for us to start this process we first need the basic dimensions of your current directory: HEIGHT in Inches, WIDTH in Inches and (if possible), DEPTH in inches. Depth is important because we can confirm if the directory can be FLUSH on the wall OR have to slightly protrude off the wall due to the depth of the directory equipment. Once we agree on the budget for your new custom electronic directory our in-house engineering department puts together a CAD drawing showing you the details of what your solution will look like. It will show the size of the monitor, the dimensions of the custom metal work, the location of the wiring, ventilation fans and key locking mechanism to access the directory equipment. Its important how all of these components layout for proper installation and future lifespan of the directory. Once you approve this drawing RedyRef can move forward with fabrication, which for custom units will range from 4-6 weeks.
When the NEW electronic directory is assembled, configured and tested the Old Directory is ready for removal. You can contract RedyRef to remove the directory or simply use on-site maintenance staff to remove and dispose of directory prior to the arrival of the new custom digital directory. Addtionally, its very important that an electrician pre-wire a standard power receptacle for power and a CAT5 internet connection if you are going to be updating the directory with our web-based updating service. The RedyRef CAD Drawings in Step 3 show exact locations of where both power & data should be installed.
Typically RedyRef is contracted to install the new directory, but on-site maintenance staff can do the install with our remote supervision. When RedyRef does provide the install we will make sure everything is fully operational before we leave the site. Your new directory will have all the initial tenant data pre-installed so right away your directory is functioning with up-to-date information. We can also train your staff on updating the directory going forward, as well as, cleaning instructions.
